Error description

  • In attempting to update an xml file in an EAR file using the
    update operation on the admin console for a set of clustered
    servers does not start the application after the update is
    complete.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

    When an application update is performed on the web.xml of a
    module of a WebSphere Enterprise Application that is targetted
    to a cluster, the update automatically stops the running
    module where the web.xml is updated. However, the module is
    not restarted automatically.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been corrected to restart the module.
    
    APAR PM82929 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Packs
    7.0.0.31, 8.0.0.7, and 8.5.5.1 of WebSphere Application Server.
