APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Using a DB2 Type 2 JDBC driver with a Liberty transaction
manager does indeed require the zosTransaction-1.0 feature,
however it is possible for the end user to specify
transactional="false" on the Data Source to indicate that the
resource should not be enlisted into any transactions. In such
a case, the zosTransaction-1.0 feature should not be required,
but yet the restriction is still enforced.

    ****************************************************************
When the zosTransaction-1.0 feature is not used and
transactional="false" is specified on the Data Source, an
SQLException is caught with a message "Native service for RRS
transactional support is not active or available."

Problem conclusion

  • The transactional DataSource option is now correctly honored.
When set to false, the resource no longer enters the enlistment
    process.
