Error description
Message BBOT0003W was previously issued as a WTO, but a change was made so that the message only goes to SYSPRINT and SYSOUT. An option needs to exist for BBOT0003W to be issued as a WTO so that customer automation actions for this message continue to function after migrating to WAS 7.0.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V7.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message BBOT0003 is not issued to the * * operator console when a transaction * * times out in a WebSphere Application * * Server for z/OS server. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When a transaction times out in a WebSphere Application Server for z/OS server, a BBOT0003 message is issued. Originally, this message was issued to the z/OS operator console so that custom automation software could detect and react to the timeout condition. The BBOT0003 message was then changed to be issued as an info level message. This change broke automation for the BBOT0003 message, because info level messages are not written to the operator console.
Problem conclusion
The BBOT0003 message is now written to the operator console in addition to being written as an info level message. APAR PM83781 is currently targeted for inclusion in WebSphere Application Server Fix Packs 7.0.0.29, 8.0.0.7, and 8.5.5.0.
