Error description

  • When processing a SOAP message and null is returned for an
asynchronous Web Service, the following error is seen:
    java.lang.ClassCastException:
    com.ibm.ejs.container.HandleListProxy incompatible with
    com.ibm.ejs.j2c.HandleList.

When a WSDL with an INPUT element only is used in the top-down
approach to indicate that a One-Way Web Service is needed, the
error above appears. Even when the operation is defined as
one-way, a two-way method is still invoked to deal with the
    request.

    ****************************************************************
    A one-way JAX-WS Web Service is defined with a Provider-based
endpoint. Even if the operation is defined as one-way, a
two-way method is still invoked to deal with the request. Thus
when a null value is returned, an exception will be thrown.
