Error description
When running the report_active_users.rtpdesign BIRT report, an error occurs and the report is not displayed. The actual error may vary somewhat depending on what type of database is used. We have seen the following errors displayed: 1) org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.api.EngineException: An exception occurred during processing. Please see the following message for details: Failed to prepare the query execution for the data set: alldata Cannot get the result set metadata. org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc.JDBCException: SQL statement does not return a ResultSet object. SQL error #1:SELECT command denied to user 'worklight'@'localhost' for table 'APP_ACTIVITY_REPORT' ; com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: SELECT command denied to user 'worklight'@'localhost' for table 'APP_ACTIVITY_REPORT' (Element ID:20) 2) SQL error #1:Table 'worklight.app_activity_report' doesn't exist ; com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: Table 'worklight.app_activity_report' doesn't exist (Element ID:20)
Local fix
This problem can be fixed by editing the report_active_users.rtpdesign file (using a text editor), search for the string "from WORKLIGHT.APP_ACTIVITY_REPORT" (without the quotes) and remove "WORKLIGHT.", making it "from APP_ACTIVITY_REPORT". Note this should occur only once in the file.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users using the 5.0.5 BIRT report * * report_active_users.rtpdesign * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When running the * * report_active_users.rtpdesign BIRT * * report, an error occurs and the report * * is not displayed. The actual error * * may * * vary somewhat depending on what type * * of * * database is used. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The report_active_users.rtpdesign specifies the wrong database. It indicates the report should use the "WORKLIGHT" database, but the analytics data, including the active user, is in the "WLREPORT" database. If the database is not specified in the report (that is, if "WORKLIGHT." is removed as described above), then the correct database will be used by default.
Problem conclusion
The code was changed to reference the correct database. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack 5.0.6.1.
