PM85808: TRANSACTION CONTEXT OF PARENT WORK IS USED FOR NESTED CHILD WORK S WITH NO CONTEXT

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When a resource adapter submits nested works to the work
  manager and if the parent work establishes a transaction
  context while the child work does not have a transaction
  context, the child work runs in the transaction context of the
  parent. This issue manifests only for adapters submitting
  nested works with different transaction contexts.

  When a resource adapter submits a nested Work object for
  run to the JCA WorkManager, the WorkManager runs the child work
  in the transaction context of the parent work, if the parent
  work specifies a transaction context while the child work does
  not.
  

Problem conclusion

• This has been fixed by ensuring that the child work does not
  run in the transaction context of the parent.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
