Error description
This issue affects WebSphere running with WOLA. When the following command is issued from CICS terminal without SEC= parm specified, it defaults to SEC=N (security disabled) BBOC START_SRVR RGN=CICSXREG DGN=Z3CELL NDN=Z3NODEA SVN=Z3SR01A SVC=* TRC=2 However, CICS BBOOUT shows the following being issued: BBOA8942W The Reuse request is disabled due to SEC(Y). BBOA8942W message should not be issued in this case when SEC=N.

**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V7.0 and V8.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message BBOA8942W is issued when SEC * * is not specified on BBOC transaction * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When a BBOC transaction is entered in CICS to register with WebSphere Optimized Local Adapters (WOLA) or to start a link server, the SEC parameter is optional. When SEC is not specified, message BBOA8942W is issued. This message implies that both SEC and REU have been specified. In the cases where SEC has not been specified, this message should not be issued, as its text is contrary to what the user has specified on the BBOC transaction.
Problem conclusion
Code has been added to issue message BBOA8942W only when necessary. APAR PM85813 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Packs 7.0.0.31 and 8.0.0.7 of WebSphere Application Server. Please refer to URL: //www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=404&uid=swg27006970 for Fix Pack availability.
