  In prior versions of WebSphere Application Server, we had
  introduced an option to obtain better diagnostics during
  Synchronous start of an application, by setting the property:
  com.ibm.websphere.WSComponentImpl.synch_init_monitored=true
  As of V8.5.5, that will be the default mode of operation.
  If it becomes necessary to revert to the prior behavior for
  diagnostic purposes, this change introduces the ability to
  do so by setting the same property to false:
  com.ibm.websphere.WSComponentImpl.synch_init_monitored=false
  (The new default behavior is preferred, and no problems are
  anticipated with it; we anticipate that this reversion will
  never be needed except possibly as a diagnostic.)
  

Problem conclusion

• As of V8.5.5, synch_init_monitored=true will be the default
  mode of operation. If it becomes necessary to revert to the
  prior behavior for diagnostic purposes, this change introduces
  the ability to do so by setting the same property to false.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 8.5.5.0.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
