Error description

  • When adding an unknown tag in server.xml for the first time
such as <aa></aa>, there is a warning:

    Liberty Profile console will report:

[WARNING ] CWWKE0405W: An exception occurred while notifying a
monitor of the following file creations, modifications, and
    deletions: [],
    [C:\liberty\20121122\usr\servers\defaultServer\server.xml],
[]. The monitor class is class
    com.ibm.ws.config.internal.xml.XMLBundleProcessor$ConfigFileMoni
tor. The exception message was: null

Then if the server.xml is changed and saved (keep this
<aa></aa> in server.xml), it won't report this message
anymore. (even if I restart the server)

    [AUDIT ? ? ] CWWKG0016I: Starting server configuration update.
[AUDIT ? ? ] CWWKG0018I: The server configuration was not
updated. No functional changes were detected.

The console message doesn't help much. ? ? You really don't
know what's wrong when reporting "The exception message was:
    null ".

An internal exception may occur during configuration update
processing when an unknown element is added to the server
configuration. The internal exception is reported as a
warning, but does not provide adequate information about what
went wrong or how you should resolve the problem.
