Error description

  • The customer was using running a liberty server on z/OS with
an active Angel process. The server was configured to exploit
z/OS extensions. Once of the z/OS native services abended
while running in an authorized environment. The cleanup
routine for the terminating task may take an ABEND EC3 with

    ****************************************************************
An ABEND EC3 RSN=20F00400 may occur after an authorized routine
has abended on the current thread. Authorized routines are
dispatched using the dynamic area from a task-level structure
(TGOO). The task-level dynamic area is marked in-use while
the routine is under dispatch. The routine abending may
leave the in-use flag on within the task-level structure.
A cleanup routine (serverAuthorizedTaskCleanup) running under
control of a task-level resource manager will attempt to use
the dynamic area and issues the ABENDEC3 with 20F00400 when it
detects that the in-use flag is on.

Problem conclusion

  • The entry linkage for serverAuthorizedTaskCleanup has been
modified to allow the in-use flag to be on and compensate.
