    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This is new function that allows an *
    * administrator to optionally choose to *
    * store Transaction Logs in an RDBMS. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
In previous releases of WebSphere Application Server, the
Transaction Logs were stored as operating system files. In
WebSphere Application Server V8.5.5 this remains the default
configuration but you may, optionally, choose to store
the Transaction Logs in a Relational Database. This latter
configuration option is aimed particularly at WebSphere
Application Server Full Profile customers working in a high
availability (HA) environment. Liberty Profile customers may
also configure the Transaction Logs to be stored in an RDBMS
    for evaluation and testing purposes.

Problem conclusion

  • This function is enabled in the Liberty Profile through the
specification of a dedicated, non-transactional Data Source in
the Liberty server.xml file, together with a reference to the
Data Source in the transaction element of the server.xml.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 8.5.5.0. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page
