Error description
A Managed Beans binding can contain an Interceptor element. That interceptor, according to the ibm-managed-bean-bnd_1_0.xsd schema, can contain either a <resource-ref> or <resource-env-ref> element. The Bindings and Extensions code currently looks for <resourceRefBindings> or <resourceEnvRefBindings> instead.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Application server generated managed * * beans bindings files may be * * incompatible with stacked products. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Application server generated managed beans bindings files ("ibm-managed-bean-bnd.xml") contain incorrect tag names for Interceptor bindings. Stack products may encounter errors when reading a bindings file which contains incorrect tag names. Additionally, stack products such as Rational Application Developer generate managed beans bindings files which contain correct tags for Interceptor bindings elements. The application server may encounter errors when reading a bindings file which contains correct tag names. In either case, the errors usually appear as parse errors. The incorrect XML element tags are: 1) "resourceRefBindings" 2) "resourceEnvRefBindings" 3) "messageDestinationRefBindings" 4) "ejbRefBindings" The correct XML element tags are: 1) "resource-ref" 2) "resource-env-ref" 3) "message-destination-ref" 4) "ejb-ref" The tag usage is incorrect only in Interceptor bindings elements of managed beans bindings files. When a managed bean bindings files with incorrect tags is read or processed by the application server, no parse errors occur.
Problem conclusion
The bindings code was modified to allow both versions of the tags to be read in the Application Server. The correct XML element tags will be created by the Application Server in subsequent bindings files. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.0.0.7 and 8.5.5.0.
