Error description
The IBM i Web Admin GUI does not display version 8.5.5.0 Websphere application servers in the list of Websphere application servers it presents.

This was due to a change in fix pack 8.5.5.0 to one of the Websphere Application Server jar filess it included in its classpath.
Problem conclusion
A configuration action was written to add an additional jar file to the classpath variable in the <WAS_HOME>/properties/webAdmin.properties file. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.1.
