Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Extenders of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server Liberty Profile * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The cause of a BundleException is not * * printed to logs. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** If a log service error occurs due to a BundleException, then a CWWKE0702E message is issued with the message of the BundleException only. If the BundleException was caused by another exception, then the message of the BundleException is not sufficient to determine the underlying cause.
Problem conclusion
The CWWKE0702E message is only used if the BundleException does not have a cause. Otherwise, the CWWKE0701E message is used, which includes a full stack trace. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.1.
