  An internal variable was assumed to be non-null, but during
  shutdown it was possible for the value to be null and cause a
  NullPointerException. Normal operation was not affected.
  

Problem conclusion

• A check for a null value has been added to prevent the
  NullPointerException occurring.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 8.5.5.1.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
