PM90726: ERROR ISSUED DURING EXTRACTION OF LIBERTY PROFILE EXTENDED INSTALL JARS

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When installing the self extracting Liberty profile extended
    jars, the following error message is issued:
    
    Cannot run program "./productInfo" (in directory
    "/WebSphere/Misc/jazz_build/jbe_zrock150/jazz/buildsystem/builde
    ngine/eclipse/build/image/output/wlp/bin"): ./productInfo: not
    found
    
    This problem only happens on IBM I-Series platform.

    When installing the Liberty profile extended jar on IBM
    I-Series using the self extraction method, i.e using java -jar
    <extended jar>.jar, the following error message is issued:
    Cannot run program "./productInfo" (in directory
    "/WebSphere/Misc/jazz_build/jbe_zrock150/jazz/buildsystem/builde
    ngine/eclipse/build/image/output/wlp/bin"): ./productInfo: not
    found
    The failure does not affect the install. It is during the
    post install validation that the problem is happening, and it
    will not warn about interim fixes that need to be reapplied to
    the system.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR ensures that the install of the extended jar
    successfully runs the productInfo validate command, and will
    inform the user of any interim fixes that they need to reapply
    to their system.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 8.5.5.1. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page

Temporary fix

  • A User can still manually run ./productInfo validate to check
    their system, once the install is complete. It is just the
    automatic checking that is failing.
