Error description

  • When a JAX-WS web service soap response which includes two or
    more set-cookie http headers is received, only the first
    set-cookie value can be retrieved successfully by the client
    side in the format of a "String".

    *                      more set-cookie http headers is         *
    *                      received, only the first                *
    *                      set-cookie value can be retrieved       *

    *                      side in the format of a "String".       *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

    Webservice code only retrieved the first "set-cookie" header
    by channel framework api. It did not validate whether there
    were multiple "set-cookie" headers in the message.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A jvm property "com.ibm.ws.websvcs.useMultipleSetCookie" was
    added to fix this. If you need to retrieve multiple
    "set-cookie" headers, then configure this property as
    true at client side. The multiple "set-cookie" headers will be
    returned as a "List" Object.
    For example:
    if(headerName == Constants.HTTP_HEADER_SET_COOKIE) {
    List<String> headerValues = responseHeaders.get(headerName);
    ......
    }
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 7.0.0.31, 8.0.0.8 and 8.5.5.1.  Please refer to the
