Error description

Running a jython script to configure federated repositories
fails with "NullPointerException"  when invalid userid or
password are specified. The client would like a more specific
message.

The problem is seen when there is a federated LDAP repository.
This is an example of the command formatted to make it easier
to read:

The response on the command line shows:

exception information:
 java.lang.NullPointerException: java.lang.NullPointerException
  ----
Seeing java.lang.NullPointerException is too generic and does
not help the user find the cause of the problem. A more
detailed message that points to the user id or password as the
cause of the problem should be displayed.

Problem summary

VMM throws NullPointerExcepton if wrong Bind DN password
is provided in LDAP repository configuration CLIs.
Instead it should give proper error message like Invalid
credentials.

Problem conclusion

The fix corrects the code to check if password is incorrect it
will throw proper exception on the console

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.31, 8.0.0.8 and 8.5.5.2.  Please refer to the
