APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
Running a jython script to configure federated repositories fails with "NullPointerException" when invalid userid or password are specified. The client would like a more specific message. - The problem is seen when there is a federated LDAP repository. This is an example of the command formatted to make it easier to read: ------------------------------------------------------------ AdminTask.updateIdMgrLDAPServer('■ -id MY_LDAP -host ldaphost.domain.com -port 389 -bindDN "cn=wasadmin,cn=users,dc=ldaphost,dc=local" -bindPassword WRONGPW ') ----------------------------------------------------------- - The response on the command line shows: WASX7015E: Exception running command: "AdminTask.updateIdMgrLDAPServer('■-id MY_LDAP -host ldaphost.domain.com -port 389 -bindDN "cn=wasadmin,cn=users,dc=ldaphost,dc=local" -bindPassword ***** ')"; exception information: java.lang.NullPointerException: java.lang.NullPointerException ---- Seeing java.lang.NullPointerException is too generic and does not help the user find the cause of the problem. A more detailed message that points to the user id or password as the cause of the problem should be displayed. - This is the error that will come out when the problem is fixed: CWWIM5020E Could not connect to the ldap://ldaphost.domain.com:389 repository using properties: ■port=389,■ldapServerType=IDS, ■bindDN=cn=root, ■host=ldaphost.domain.com, ■certificateMapMode=exactdn,■sslConfiguration=, ■certificateFilter=, ■sslEnabled=false,■connectTimeout=0,■bindPassword=****, ■authentication=simple,■id=MY-LDAP,.
