Error description

  • The problem is, the SOAP provider don't dispatch the SOAP
    response to SOAP client when the following crteria is met:
    1)The MEP is a two way Asynchronous web service
    2)The user handler returns false or throws a runtime Exception
    while handling the inbound SOAP request .

    When this problem happens, if enabling web service trace, we
    do not observe the following message in the trace file:
    "WSWS3572I: Outbound HTTP SOAP response"

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The web service provider may not *
    *                      dispatch                                *

    * asynchronous web service pattern. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    In a two way Asynchronous web service, while handling the
    inbound SOAP request on the web service provider side, if the
    user handler on web service provider side happen to return
    FALSE or throw a runtime Exception, the web service runtime
    exits without sending a SOAP response.

Problem conclusion

  • In a two way Asynchronous web service, if the user handler on
    the web service provider side happens to return FALSE or throw
    a runtime Exception, the web service runtime exits without
    sending a SOAP response.

    The JAX-WS runtime is changed to detect this scenario and
    handle it correctly.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 7.0.0.31, 8.0.0.8 and 8.5.5.1. Please refer to the
