Error description

• java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 500
  occurs when the xJCL for a parallel job contains special
  characters in the job name.

  Parallel Job Manager jobs having special characters in the job
  name (for example: XDCGIVT!_#PAR#) have issues retrieving sub-
  job
  logs.  The job name is not encoded prior to using it as part of
  the URL for accessing the job logs.
  

Problem conclusion

• A code update has been made to URLEncode the job name prior to
  its use.
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  Service Level (Fix Pack) 8.0.0.3 of WebSphere Compute Grid 8.0.
