Error description

  • In a Multi-Servant environment the result of
    findMBean/queryNames returns "an" MBean which is not
    necessarily the one registered in the local servant, but could
    be that of some other servant.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    There is no interface on z/OS to
    determine whether an MBean has been
    registered in the local servant
    process. The interface,
    com.ibm.websphere.management.MBeanFactory.findMBean(), will
    return the object name for the specified MBean if it has been
    registered in any servant process in the same logical server.

Problem conclusion

  • A JVM property was defined to modify the behavior of the method,
    com.ibm.websphere.management.MBeanFactory.findMBean(). The
    property can be used to identify MBeans for which findMBean()
    will return an ObjectName only if the MBean is registered in
    the local servant process. The property has effect only on
    the z/OS operating system platform when findBean() is invoked
    from a servant process.

    The property name is
    com.ibm.websphere.management.localOnlyMBeanList. The property
    value is a comma-separated list of MBean config IDs. A config
    ID corresponds to mbeanIdentifier attribute in an MBean's
    object name and is the input parameter to the findMBean method.
