APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If users check "Use an isolated class loader for this shared
    library" when using shared libraries for JAX-WS webservice
    applications, webservice is not able to get isolated class
    loader path for JAXBContext creation, which may result in error
    such as:
    "<Some Webservice class> is not known to this context".

    * this context" would be thrown. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Isolated classloader does not delegate its parents, which
    means webservice engine can not get isolated classloader if it
    just walks the classloaders from child to parent.

Problem conclusion

  • Specific classloader APIs were added in webservice code to
    make sure the webservice engine can get the isolated
    classloader path during JAXB context creation.
