Error description
In controller address spaces, if ras_output_outputLocation includes 'buffer' then IPCS will be able to format out any WebSphere CTRACE data that might be present in the dump. For 64 bit controller regions, this data does not get formatted out. IPCS issues the following message: There are no trace buffers in the dump for COMP(DADPLEX) SUB((DADADAC03C4))

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V7.0 for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Can not format a controller's ctrace * * buffers when the server is running in * * 64 bit mode. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When IP CTRACE COMP(WAS00) SUB((BBOS0010038)) LOCAL FULL is issued against a dump from a controller that was running in 64 bit mode this messages is returned. There are no trace buffers in the dump for COMP(WAS00) SUB((BBOS0010038)) When running in 64 bit mode a glue routine makes a copy of the btrc and uses that address when doing the CTRACE DEFINE. When trying to format the CTRACE buffers in a dump we get the address of the copy and it does not pass validation because the storage has been freed and reallocated as something else. The btrc is already in 31 bit storage so there is no need for the glue routine to make a copy.
Problem conclusion
Changed the glue routine to not make a copy of the btrc. APAR PM93642 is currently targeted for inclusion in WebSphere Application Server Fix Pack 7.0.0.31. Please refer to URL: //www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=404&uid=swg27006970 for Fix Pack availability.
