Error description

  • Leak of a WOLA connection pool when issuing a Display from CICS
to the WebSphere server that does not succeed.

A display command against the WebSphere server which CICS was
connected to, and noticied that the connection pool for these
registrations was growing, with a large number of connections
     in "Err" state:

Reviewing the logs, there is one Err connection for each time
the WebSphere server is recycled. It appears that we are leaking
one connection in the 'Err' (or Error) state for each WebSphere
server recycle. If this were to continue, the link server would
not be able to get a connection to process new requests, and it
would appear to be hung. It would not process any more requests.

    ****************************************************************
When a WebSphere server is either turned off, recycled or goes
down for any other reason the WOLA connection in use may not be
returned to the connection pool and instead leaks. This can
happen if the client is using the BBOA1RCA service, or if the
client is the WOLA CICS link server. If this occurs too many
times, the connection pool will become exhausted and no
    connections can be obtained.
