Error description
Customer have migrated their development cell from zWAS/WCG 6.1 to Version 8 and noticed that two DB2-LREE-Tables grow and grow. Seems, there is no cleanup of these tables: [LREE].CHECKPOINTREPOSITORY - no cleanup (after job ends) [LREE].POJOSTEP - no cleanup (when job removed via JMC/lrcmd) In backward compatibility mode, POJOSTEP entries are not being clean up when the application throws exception before the endpoint container invokes application's processJobStep().

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All customers of WebSphere Compute Grid * * version 8.0. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: In backward compatibility mode, * * POJOSTEP entries are not being * * cleaned up when the application throws * * an exception before the * * endpoint container invokes the * * application's processJobStep() * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** POJOSTEP entries are not cleaned up because the application exception is propagated to the caller and the clean up routine is not called.
Problem conclusion
The container needs to catch the application exception in this path and execute the clean up routine. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack 8.0.0.4.
