Error description

  • Additional case of the problem of PM88913.  The ws_ant
    scripts were not updated to use the correct version of the ASM
    JAR.
    The correct JAR is "com.ibm.ws.prereq.asm.jar".  This problem is
    specific to the IBM WebSphere Application Server v8.5.5.0 and
    higher.

    Caused by: java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError:
    org.objectweb.asm.ClassVisitor
    The problem occurs because the ws_ant scripts were not updated
    to use the correct version of the ASM JAR. The correct JAR is
    "com.ibm.ws.prereq.asm.jar".
    

Problem conclusion

  • The classpath in the ws_ant.bat and ws_ant.sh scripts is updated
    to use the correct version of ASM ( org.objectweb.asm ).
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 8.5.5.2.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
    page for delivery information:
