* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A NullPointerException occurs in        *
*                      annotation merge processing while       *
*                      following a superclass hierarchy.       *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
A NullPointerException can occur in annotation merge
processing while traversing the superclass hierarchy for a
class affected by an annotation. If the attempt to find or
load the superclass fails, it can leave the superclass pointer
null. Any attempt to use the pointer will then result in the
exception.
The NullPointerException has been seen in several places which
include:
java.lang.NullPointerException at
com.ibm.ws.amm.merge.ejb.manager.InterceptorDataWrapper.addToDDI
nterceptorBindingLookupMap(InterceptorDataWrapper.java:221)
java.lang.NullPointerException at
com.ibm.ws.amm.validate.common.lifecycle.BaseLifecycleValidator.
getAllDeclarations(BaseLifecycleValidator.java:134)
but may also occur in these classes:
com.ibm.ws.amm.merge.ejb.ScheduleMergeAction
com.ibm.ws.amm.merge.ejb.TransactionAttributeMergeAction
com.ibm.ws.amm.validate.ejb.BaseLifecycleValidator
com.ibm.ws.amm.validate.lifecycle.BaseLifecycleValidator

Problem conclusion

Annotation merge processing has been changed to check for
null superclass values.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 8.0.0.8 and 8.5.5.2.  Please refer to the
