Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server Proxy Server. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WLM in WebSphere Proxy ignores * * the virtual host configured for a web * * module when selecting the application * * server port to route to. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The Workload management (WLM) code currently ignores the users virtual host configuration for a web module. This results in requests getting routed to ports that it should not be routing to.
Problem conclusion
A new custom property, IBM_CLUSTER_WLM_ENFORCE_VHOST_IN_WEBAPP, was introduced. When set to true WLM will use the virtual host configured on the application. By default the property is false, in which case WLM will ignore the virtual host configured on the application as it does currently. Instructions on how to configure cell level custom properties can be found at http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/wasinfo/v8r0/index.jsp?topic=/ com.ibm.websphere.nd.doc/info/ae/ae/ragt_cell_customprops.html. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.0.0.8 and 8.5.5.2.
