  An example of the problem is when using the @FacesConverter
  annotation:
  @FacesConverter(value="CurrencyConverter", forClass =
  java.util.Currency.class)
  The forClass above is ignored and an exception can occur such
  as the following:
  Caused by: javax.el.ELException: /index.xhtml at line 10 and
  column 44 value="#{bean.currency}": Cannot convert USD of type
  class java.lang.String to class java.util.Currency
  at
  org.apache.myfaces.view.facelets.el.TagValueExpression.setValue(
  TagValueExpression.java:129)
  at javax.faces.component.UIInput.updateModel(UIInput.java:380)
  

Problem conclusion

• The JSF MyFaces container was updated to apply both the
  value and forClass attributes of a JSF Converter.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix packs 8.0.0.9 and 8.5.5.2.  Please refer to the
