Error description
Toplevel job going into ended state 5 minutes after subjobs end normally.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Compute Grid version 8.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When subjobs have completed * * normally, there is a 5 minutes delay * * before top level job goes into final * * state * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** There is a race condition created when subjobs are submitted that causes the top level job to bypass the registration for subjob status. Because subjob status registration was skipped, the top level job is not able to monitor its subjobs status. However, the top level job is able to transition to a final state because there is a recovery mechanism that allows the top level job to check with the job scheduler for subjob status. The default wait interval for the recovery is 5 minutes.
Problem conclusion
Subjob registration path has been updated to ensure all subjob status registration is done. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack 8.0.0.4 Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27022998
