APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • TSM "backup image" is taking snapshot of filesystem and
TSM "backup image" calls mklv & lquery commands and they
failed when executing in parallel with the following
errors:

0516-070 lqueryvg: LVM system call found
                   an unaccountable internal error.
0516-822 mklv: Unable to create logical volume.

The above is seen only in bigvg and scalable vg.

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • If the customer calls mklv while the logform or other
commands that exclusively open the LV special file
in VG, command fails with the openx error message.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Modify the lvm_queryvg_full call for the mwcc attribute by
using the hd_vginfo call instead of openx each LV.
