Error description

  • The problem is seen only for an  NFS file with size less
than a page ......
When memory mapped IO is done using shared memory to NFS
file and if the writes are less than a page but beyond
the
original size ,the file size never changes...
 The contents of file are also not complete. we can see
only
the content upto the original size.

Problem conclusion


    

  • In functions nfs3_map and nfs3_map_lloff,
after checking for invalid sid - INVLSID,
if a shmat() file's (client) size offset is within a page,
call vm_protectp() to set the protection key for the page
