A device file can be deleted on a read-only mounted namefs. example : cd /tmp mkdir namefs_src mkdir namefs_mnt echo "anystring" > namefs_src/regfile mknod namefs_src/devfile b 1 1 mount -r namefs_src namefs_mnt cd namefs_mnt rm regfile # fails with error "read-only filesystem", as expected rm devfile # works although the filesystem is read-only
