Comments
For z/VM 6.2.0 HCM, this APAR offers: 1. A new support level for the existing processor type 2964. 1.1 Most limitations are similar to the existing z13 EC. 1.2 Support of up to 0x2300 PCIe function IDs, which makes function ID allow 4 hexadecimal digits. 1.3 Support of up to 255 virtual functions, which makes virtual function ID allow 3 digits. 1.4 VCHID value for IQD channel supports the range from 0x7C0 to 0x7FF. 2. Support of a new processor type 2965 with the following models: N10, N20. 2.1 Most limitations are similar to the new support level of 2964. 2.2 Support of 3 channel subsystems. 2.3 Support of 3 subchannel sets for each channel subsystem. 2.4 Support of 40 LPARs. 3. Support of a new virtual PCIe function ISM on both the new support level of 2964 and the new processor 2965. 3.1 Support of 32 ISM VCHIDs in one processor. 3.2 The range of ISM VCHID is from 0x7C0 to 0x7FF. 3.3 Support of up to 255 virtual function IDs in range from 1 to 255. 3.4 Support one(the first)PNETID. 4. Support Open Crypto adapter as a new PCIe function on both the new support level of 2964 and the new processor type 2965 for the country specific cryptography support. 5. Support of the new LinuxONE Emperor processor which is similar to the new support level of 2964, except that no coupling channels can be defined. This is also the processor type 2964 but supports models L30, L63, L96, LC9, and LE1. 6. Support of the new LinuxONE Rockhopper processor which is similar to the new processor 2965, except that no coupling channels can be defined. This is also the processor type 2965 but supports models L10 and L20. For z/VM 5.4.0, this APAR offers: 1. A new Support level for the existing processor type 2964. 1.1 Most limitations are similar to the existing z13 EC. But toleration support for: 1. PCIe functions of processor. 2. PNETID attribute of CHPID. 3. VCHID attribute of IQD CHPID. About the toleration, 2 scenarios need to be distinguished: 1. An IODF does NOT contain either - PCIe functions or - CHPIDs with PNETID attributes or - CHPIDs with VCHID attributes full support is available, including updates of the IODF, generation of reports, building production IODF, and etc. But users CAN'T create PCIe functions, add PNETID attributes to CHPIDs or VCHID attributes to CHPIDs. 2. An IODF contains - PCIe functions or - CHPIDs with PNETID attributes or - CHPIDs with VCHID attributes Users can update the IODF, generate reports, build product IODF, and the original information about these features will be kept, only if the processors or the CHPIDs with them are deleted. But users -CAN'T create PCIe functions, edit or review the existing ones. -CAN'T add PNETID attributes to CHPIDs, edit or review the existing ones. -CAN'T add VCHID attributes to CHPIDs, edit or review the existing ones. It is recommended to install first the following HCD PTFs: 1. PTFs for APAR VM65729.
