IC65197: ONLINE REORG ON A LARGE TABLE CAN CAUSE THE ARCHIVE LOG SPACE TO BE CONSUMED

Error description

• During an online reorg of a large table, the archive log can
  rapidly grow and possibly fill up the disk and cause the server
  to crash.  The symptoms are similar to APAR IC62978.
  The activity log may show the following:
  ANR0171I dbieval.c(824): Error detected on 31:17, database in
  evaluation mode. ANR0175E dbieval.c(917): Space exhausted for
  one or more  of the following:  DB, LOG, or instance directory.
  A dsmserv.dmp file may not be created because the db2 database
  crashes due to the exhausted log.

Local fix

• 1. Add more space to the archive log location
  2. Disable reorg until the fix is available:
   - in the server options file, add the following and restart the
  TSM server:
  ALLOWREORGTABLE NO
