JR19968: Predicate padding (RPAD) and pushdown for queries involving Oracle nicknames does not occur unless tables in certain order

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Data sources such as Oracle have a different character
comparisons semantics than UDB. UDB has a blank pad comparison,
while Oracle has a non-blank pad comparison. Therefore,
comparison operations cannot be pushed down to Oracle. To
improve performance (i.e. push down the predicates), compiler is
generating another predicate with both sides blank padded.

However, the predicate padding only takes place if the tables
appear in a certain order in the FROM clause.
