JR22083: BUILD JCL DIALOG RETURNS EMPTY JCL OPTIONS FIELDS (CANNOT FIND METADATA)

DB2 UDB Version 8.1 FixPak 16 (also known as Version 8.2 FixPak 9 )

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The DB2 Control Center for z/OS may not return JCL Options data
  in the Build JCL dialog (implying that DAS metadata does not
  exist for the subsystem), if the subsystem name is less than 4
  characters in length.
  The allowable length for a subsystem name in DB2 for z/OS is 1-4
  characters. The Control Center is incorrectly handling subsystem
  names of less than 4 characters.
  

Local fix

• The work-around is to use a 4-character subsystem name.
  

Problem summary

• USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Control Center for DB2 UDB on
  z/OS.
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  If this APAR is not applied, information will be missing from
  the Build JCL dialog box in the Control Center for DB2 UDB on
  z/OS.  In particular this will occur if the subsystem name is
  less than four characters in length.

Problem conclusion

• Problem was first fixed in Version 8.1 FixPak 11 (s060120).
