    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The CCCA JCL to perform a test compile *
    * requires some extra DD statements *

    *                      COBOL V5.                               *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When CCCA generated JCL to perform a test compile of converted
    source for Enterprise COBOL V5, it did not include the new
    SYSMDECK and SYSUT8 to SYSUT15 work file DD statements which are
    required by the new compiler. This resulted in an error message
    for the missing SYSMDECK DD statement followed by abend S0C4.
    The same DD statements are also missing from the sample batch
    JCL files, which need to be customised by the installation
    before use.

Problem conclusion

  • The JCL skeleton which CCCA uses to submit a compile job from
    ISPF has been updated to test for Enterprise COBOL V5 and to
    include additional work file DD statements SYSMDECK and SYSUT8
    to SYSUT15 for that case. In addition, all sample batch JCL
    files which include compile steps have been updated to show
    where those DD statements should be included if necessary.
