• The MQ_INSTALL_VERSION environment variable needs to be
  documented because it is required for MQ version check which
  in turn required for WebSphere Application Server to work
  accordingly.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After installation of PK31920 to        *
  *                      support connection to WebSphere MQ      *
  *                      5.3, the connection in BINDINGS mode    *
  *                      fails with error:                       *
  *                      com.ibm.ws.exception.RuntimeError:      *
  *                                                              *
  *                      java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError:         *
  *                      mqjbnd05 (Not found in                  *
  *                      java.library.path)                      *
  *                      A new environment variable is needed    *
  *                      for WebSphere MQ 5.3 support in         *
  *                      BINDINGS mode with WebSphere            *
  *                      Application Server 6.1.0.5. The         *
  *                      variable name is MQ_INSTALL_VERSION     *
  *                      and it should be set to "5".            *
  *                      This information is not in the          *
  *                      Information Center.                     *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply fix or define MQ_INSTALL_VERSION       *
  *                 environment variable set to "5"              *

  The new environment variable will be documented.
  

Problem conclusion

• In the Version 6.1.x information center, the description of
  environment variable MQ_INSTALL_VERSION was added in task
  "Installing and configuring WebSphere MQ as a JMS provider".
