Error description
Upgrading from IBM HTTP Server 6.1.0.27 to 6.1.0.27 should upgrade GSKit to 7.0.4.28. The upgrade log shows the upgrade was successful (INSTCONFSUCCESS). However, GSKit is still showing 7.0.4.14. Checked updateGSKit.log, it indicates GSKit is already installed. The problem was discovered in 64-bit AIX 6.1. It may exist in other AIX versions and/or hardware platforms. But this defect should not affect other OS platforms.
Local fix
Workaround 1: Remove .toc file in <IHS_DIR>/GSKitImage directory before upgrading IBM HTTP Server. Then the update of GSKit to 7.0.4.28 should work. Workaround 2: Install GSKIt 7.0.4.28 manually. PM07113: Update GSKit to 7.0.4.28 for IBM HTTP Server http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24026884
