Discontinued Functionality

IBM discontinued support for the browser-based client known as the MultiSite Admin Console and the set of administrative capabilities known collectively as MultiSite Synchronization Management starting in IBM Rational ClearCase 7.1.

Synchronization Management refers to a subset of administrative options that are used with MultiSite replica families. These options include:

• Processing of managed mode synchronization requests,
• Execution of queries for managed mode synchronization jobs, and
• Family health commands.

Access to Synchronization Management is available through the MultiSite Web Admin Console or the command line interface.

In version 7.1, the MultiSite Web Admin Console was disabled and the Synchronization Management functions will be available only through the command line interface. IBM will no longer accept requests for enhancement or commit to repair defects reported for this functionality. Users who have adopted Synchronization Management can continue to use it as is though it will be disabled in a future release of IBM Rational ClearCase.

Global Monitoring and Administration

Future releases of IBM Rational ClearCase will include MultiSite Global Monitoring and ClearCase Global Monitoring and Administration. Built on Rational and other IBM technologies, these releases will replace the functions available with the Admin Console and Synchronization Management and include new capabilities. All current users will be encouraged to migrate.
