Troubleshooting


Problem

Collecting data for DOCLINKS configuration with Maximo. Gathering this information before calling IBM support will help you with the troubleshooting process and save time analyzing the data.

Resolving The Problem

This technote describes what information you need to begin troubleshooting a Maximo DOCLINKS issue.

If you have not compiled the General information, Please see General Must Gather

Maximo 6 with WebLogic:

- What exact version of Maximo? (Maximo 6.2.1, Maximo 6.2.3, etc)


- Initial Configuration? Or troubleshooting post configuration issue?
- Are you attachments on a local server or you using UNC pathing to server out the attachments?
- Please take a screenshot of the 'DOCLINKS' folder contents on the physical server.
- Please take a screenshot of the 'WEB-INF' folder contents on the physical server. (showing web.xml)
- Please access the WebLogic console – access the DOCLINKS application deployed on the server. Please take a screenshot of the Configuration tab.
- Please access the WebLogic console – access the DOCLINKS application deployed on the server. Please take a screenshot of the Testing tab.
- Navigate to the following directory: <MAXIMO_ROOT>\applications\maximo\properties – please include the doclinks.properties file.
- Access an application with DOCLINKS enabled (Work Order Tracking for example) - Select Action - Attachment Library/Folders - Manage Folders - take a screenshot.
- Access an application with DOCLINKS enabled (Work Order Tracking for example) – Access a record where a DOCLINKS has been upload – click on the ‘Paperclip’ – View Attachments – click on the DOCLINK hyperlink (to view) – take a screenshot of the URL within the new window that appears that is serving out the DOCLINK.

- Access an application with DOCLINKS enabled (Work Order Tracking for example) - Select Action - Attachment Library/Folders - Manage Folders - take a screenshot.
- Access an application with DOCLINKS enabled (Work Order Tracking for example) – Access a record where a DOCLINKS has been upload – click on the ‘Paperclip’ – View Attachments – click on the DOCLINK hyperlink (to view) – take a screenshot of the URL within the new window that appears that is serving out the DOCLINK.

Maximo 7.1 and Maximo 7.5 with WebLogic:

- What exact version of Maximo? (Maximo 7.1.1.5, Maximo 7.5, etc)


- Initial Configuration? Or troubleshooting post configuration issue?
- Are you attachments on a local server or you using UNC pathing to server out the attachments?
- Please take a screenshot of the 'DOCLINKS' folder contents on the physical server.
