Abstract

This document describes how to download and assemble Tivoli Directory Integrator 7.1 components using the Passport Advantage Online website for each supported platform.

Download Description

Downloading and assembling the product

  1. Download all of the parts that you need, both required and optional, from the IBM Passport Advantage website. The parts are described by platform in the tabbed sections of this document.
  2. Unpack each of the parts into a single temporary directory on your system.
  3. Run the IBM Tivoli Directory Integrator Launchpad executable for your operating system; for example, launchpad.sh
  4. From the Launchpad menu, select Install IBM Tivoli Directory Integrator.
  5. On the installation panel, click IBM Tivoli Directory Integrator Installer and follow the installation instructions.
  6. Install Tivoli Directory Integrator using a Typical or Custom installation:
    • A Typical installation installs the Tivoli Directory Integrator Server, Configuration Editor (SPARC only), JavaDocs, Administration and Monitoring Console, embedded web platform and Examples.
    • A Custom installation allows you to choose individual components to install. On SPARC, it also provides the option to install the Configuration Editor Update Site and Password Synchronization Plug-ins which are not installed in a typical install.

Supported platforms

  • Sun Solaris SPARC
    • Solaris 9 (32/64bit supported)
    • Solaris 10 (32/64bit supported)
  • Sun Solaris Opteron
    • Solaris 10 (64bit supported)

    Note: The IBM Tivoli Directory Integrator Server and Configuration Editor run in 32-bit tolerance mode on all 64-bit Solaris SPARC operating systems. This is because Tivoli Directory Integrator ships and uses a 32-bit JRE on Solaris SPARC.
